The average salt intake in Singapore is worryingly high, with some individuals consuming as much as 9 teaspoon a day. This is 9 times higher than our national guidelines which is 1 teaspoon a day. A diet that is high in salt can raise our body’s blood pressure by 2 folds. High blood pressure is a risk factor for heart diseases and stroke.
This workshop aims to unravel the salty lies that are commonly hidden in food products. You’ll get to discover more about your salt threshold, learn how to cut down your salt intake and learn the use of herbs and spices in your daily cooking!
